Message from the College

Welcome to the College of Computer Information Technology (CCIT)!

I invite you to take a closer look at the broad range of technology focused academic programs offered by the CCIT.

The college is committed to being one of the outstanding institutions by providing different opportunities for learning, growth, experience, and skills. The programs learning outcomes are achieved throughout the implement of the standards that require full and active involvements of the academic and professional qualifications of CCIT faculty.

In addition to the teaching responsibility, the college faculty members are engaged in a variety of service activities that sustain and enhance the thrilling life of the CCIT and connect it to the university, the society, and the world. Through case studies, workshops, seminars, internships, and services to the community, students acquire hands-on experience and equip with the essential professional skills.

At the CCIT, faculty members are dedicated to sustain and enhance the existing programs, improve the current learning technologies, offer new programs, expand students’ opportunities for hands-on experience and professional skills, and bring to the classes the up-to-date changes in the global IT environment. We are currently in the process of offering accredited Bachelor Degree Programs in Digital Forensics (Computer Crime), Information Technology Management (ITM), and Computer Science to meet market demands.

Overview

The College’s unique slate of programs provides a technology-based program to match each student’s ambitions. Offered programs prepare graduates for twenty-first century technology-based careers and to make an immediate positive impact in modern work place. Within our state-of-the-art facilities, students work toward their desired academic degree programs in various areas in Computer Information Technology. Mission

The College of Computer Information Technology strive for excellence in teaching, offer modern curricula leading to various academic degree programs in Computer Information Technology, and recognize and respond to the changing needs of society through specific quality teaching programs and initiatives. It considers the use of experiential education, including project-based software development and internships, to be essential for effective learning.

Programs and Specializations

The College of Computer Information Technology is committed to offering an integrated curriculum that requires students to be stimulatingly involved in the diverse disciplines and concepts of information technology. The curriculum is structured to teach the fundamentals of the computer information technology and related concentrations - reflecting latest changes in the chosen areas.

The CCIT offers a quality teaching and learning methods and creates an environment that encourages interested students to benefit and choose subjects of their choices from a broad range of specializations.

The College now offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science with concentration in Network Security and Digital Forensics. It also has undergraduate program in Information Technology Management.

Beginning in Fall 2010-2011, the Faculty will offer new graduate program in Library and Information Science (MLIS). The program focuses to meet the need for subject specialist and scholar librarians in academic, research and cultural institutions. The approach is to provide opportunity and develop expertise to acquire the skills and knowledge required in a variety of professional settings. The program prepares students for the information services industries with the ability to design, develop and market tools for information handling; thus managing the internal and external sources necessary to help an institution or organization conduct its business.
